Lesson 4
WALT: create an interactive 'learning blog' that will help Y6 pupils with their SATs preparation.
WILF:
1. Create a NEW blog using your own Blogger log-in (use your Zimbra account address)
2. Decide on your topic- MUST be linked to Y6 learning areas in Literacy or Maths.
3. Start creating content. You MUST NOT copy and paste directly from internet.
4. Think about making it INTERACTIVE...links to suitable games, other sites of interest, powerpoints, appropriate gadgets.
5. Remember your intended AUDIENCE (Y6 pupils around the UK)

Web 2.0 technologies are becoming more and more prevalent. Understanding how to create online content will help you in future jobs.

* You have at least 1 picture/image, text post, Youtube video, Powerpoint and Word document posted to your practice blog.
* You have a added at least one 'gadget' to your blog.
* You have logged onto your school email account (this will be the account you use to create your learning blog)
Some will get further and...
* Create a new Blogger account that is secure (and linked to your email address)
* Created a second practice blog

(1) Children who can explain what a blog is and how web technologies have changed over the last few years.
(2) Blogging partners to set up a 'test blog' and enter some text and image content.

The Learning Blog
This learning blog will be a good source of information, and will contain links to various other websites that will help you to create your blog. Over the next few weeks you will learn how to add creative content, including pictures/photos, text, presentations and hyperlinks, then publish all of this on the world wide web!

Our Blogging Project over the next few weeks will give you the opportunity to create your own blog (or 'web-log') that can be accessed from the internet anywhere in the world.
Your blogs will be linked to the Chad Vale website and you will be able to access them from home. Working with a partner, you will create a 'learning blog' to help others with an aspect of Maths, Science or Literacy. This will also give you the skills of creating content and publishing.
